SPS Corporation was founded by Jim Gieber and Frank James, both graduates of prestigious engineering colleges in the 1960’s. Their paths crossed at Dupont Corporation where they worked together on the development of the original polyolefin shrink film, Clysar. In 1970, Jim and Frank decided to start Shrink Packaging Systems Corporation. Both men understood how their engineering expertise would be a valuable asset to the packaging industry, particularly in delivering hands-on packaging engineering services and long-term packaging equipment support.
By combining expert film and machine knowledge, customer interests were more efficiently served by providing greater productivity.
It is, therefore, no wonder that SPS’s Technical Sales team of 21 people includes 6 degreed engineers. This technical approach to packaging sales provides our customers with the right resources to ensure that every aspect of your equipment, line layout, and ongoing packaging equipment maintenance requirements are correct. Prior to ordering, our Technical Sales team verifies the right materials for the application.

Our team has also developed, designed, and manufactured over 85 patentable machinery modifications including the revolutionary Green Machine Side Seal.
